The correct answer is: triose phosphate is the electron donor while acetaldehyde is the electron acceptor
During fermentation, glucose undergoes glycolysis and yields pyruvic acid, which then transformed into acetyl CoA. Then glyceraldehyde phosphate is produced, which then transforms to acetaldehyde and this acetaldehyde transforms into ethanol. In alcohol fermentation triose phosphate is the electron donor, at the same time as acetaldehyde is the electron acceptor.
Related Theory
Alcoholic fermentation is also known as ethanol fermentation where biological elements such as glucose, fructose, and sucrose are converted into cellular energy and thereby produce ethanol and carbon dioxide as their by-product.
