The root knot disease of brinjal is quite common in all vegetative growing areas especially when the climate is warm, with short winters. The disease is caused by root knot nematode Meloidogyne incognita. It devitalizes root tips, develop swelling over roots and reduces flow of water and minerals to the aerial parts. As a result yield and quality of fruits are affected.
Citrus canker is a common bacterial diseases of citrus tree, caused by Xanthomonas citri. Late blight is a disease of potato caused by fungus Phytophthora infestans having blight type symptoms. Wilt of pigeon pea is caused by Fusarium udum (fungi) where wilting of seedlings and adult plants occur.
