There are three basic tissue systems viz., epidermal, ground and vascular tissue system.
(i) Epidermal tissue system-Epidermis, stomata and epidermal appendages.
(ii) Fundamental or ground tissue system - Cortex (hypodermis, general cortex and endodermis), pericycle and pith.
(iii) Vascular tissue system - Xylem and phloem.
