Nuisance growth of aquatic plants and bloom forming algae in natural water bodies is generally due to high concentration of dissolved organic and inorganic nutrients materials presence of phosphorus favours the growth of aquatic weed plants like Eichhornia (water hyacinth) and certain blue-green algae.
