Mutualism refers to those species interactions where both the species are benefited from the association and are dependent on each other for survival whereas in competition both species get affected equally.

In predation and parasitism, both only one species that is the predator/parasite is benefitted but in predation, the predator kills the prey whereas in Parasitism the parasite harms but does not kill its host.

The interaction where one species is benefitted and the other is neither benefitted nor harmed is called commensalism.

When one species is harmed and other remains unaffected the type interaction is amensalism.
