The correct answer is: H2 is liberated at the anode

When electric current is passed through an ionic hydride in the molten state, hydrogen gas is liberated at the anode. In hydrides of s-block hydrogen exist in -1 oxidation state. And it is oxidised into hydrogen gas. And oxidation always take place at anode.

At anode:

M+H-M++    H-
                              hydride ion
H-12H2+e- at anode
