Vegetative propagules are the plant parts or organs that are involved in the process of reproduction even though their primary function is not it. The reproductive process is called as vegetative propagation as the non-reproductive parts/organs (leaf/stem/roots) are involved.

Onion propagates vegetative by forming bulbs. Bulb is a type of modified stem that grows underground. The fleshy scale like part helps in storage of food and encloses the terminal bud. The axillary buds are found at different places. Adventitious roots form at the end that absorbs the nutrients and water. The axillary and terminal buds grow into a new stem via vegetative propagation.
