Phloem sap is a complex mixture of organic and inorganic substances. Sucrose is the main sugar in phloem sap and its concentration varies between species. Other sugars such as hexoses (e.g., glucose and fructose), raffinose-oligosaccharides, and polyols (mannitol and sorbitol) are also found in phloem sap.
