Proteins have a unique three dimensional structure when protein is subjected to a physical change or a chemical change than the hydrogen bonds in proteins get disturbed, which causes unfolding of globules and uncoiling of helix. Therefore, protein loses its biological activity. This is called denaturation of proteins.
