Closure of atrio-ventricular valves
The blood pressure in the artery is maximum during the systole of the heart. There are two heart sounds lub and dub. Lub is a systolic heart sound which is produced due to the closure of atrioventricular valves (bicuspid and tricuspid valves). Dub is a diastolic heart sound which is produced due to closure of semilunar valves (aortic and pulmonary valves)
