The correct answer is: X¯+n+12n+16
Let, x1,x2,.....xn be n observations.
Then, X¯=1nΣxi.
Let, y1=x1+12, y2=x2+22,
y3=x3+32,....,yn=xn+n2
Then, the mean of the new series is
1nΣyi=1nΣxi+i2=1nΣxi+1n12+22+32+....+n2
=X¯+1nnn+12n+16=X¯+n+12n+16
