Neurons and glial cells make the nervous system. Neurons are specialized cells that are responsible for transmission of signals. glial cells support neurons. Neurons are main conducting cells but occupy less that one of the volume while supporting cells occupy more than half of the volume. These cells do no show conduction but can regenerate. Oligodendrocytes, Schwann cells, microglial cells are its examples. These cells protect neurons by phagocytosis.
