Following are the stages that the zygote passes through till implanations.
(i) The embryo consisting 8-16 blastomeres is called a morula.
(ii) The morula repeatedly divides and transforms into blastocyst as it moves into uterus.
(iii) The blastomeres present in the blastocyst are arranged into a surface layer called trophoblast and interior cells attached to trophoblast are called the inner cell mass.
(iv) The layer of trophoblast then gets attached to the endometruim and inner mass cells get differentiated to form embryo.
(v) After the process of attachment, the uterine cells rapidly divide to cover the blastocyst.

(vi) The blastocyst gets embedded in the uterine endometrium. This process is known as implantation.
