In glycolysis, glucose and fructose are phosphorylated to form glucose-6-phosphate by the activity of enzyme hexokinase and then converted to fructose 1-6 biphosphate which splits into 3C PGAL and DHAP. In subsequent steps, these products get oxidized to form PGA and then PEP, which at the end produces pyruvic acid, the end product of glycolysis.
