In glycolysis, glucose and fructose are phosphorylated to form glucose-6-phosphate by the activity of enzyme hexokinase and then converted to fructose biphosphate which splits into PGAL and . In subsequent steps, these products get oxidized to form and then which at the end produces pyruvic acid, the end product of glycolysis.
