Cephaleuros is a parasitic thalloid green alga. Its common name is red rust. This alga is parasitic on some important economic plants of the tropics and subtropics, e.g. tea, guava, mango, coffee, etc. It damages the area of algal growth on leaves or kills the new shoots or disfigure fruit.
