Gibberellin cause seeds germination by activating vegetative growth of the embryo and mobilizing stored food reserve of the endosperm by promoting the synthesis of hydrolytic enzymes involved in the solubilisation of endosperm reserve. Spraying juvenile conifers with gibberellins hastens the maturity period, thus leading to early seed production.
